Waccamaw Bank narrows loss in second quarter

The parent of Waccamaw Bank on Friday reported a loss of $127,753, or 2 cents a share, in the second quarter. A year earlier, it had a loss of $2.12 million, or 38 cents a share.
Waccamaw Bankshares Inc., based in Whiteville, said results continued to be hurt by its provision for loan losses, which totaled $10.9 million, or 3.26 percent of assets, as of June 30, compared with $10.1 million, READ MORE
