      POSITION: Pitcher
      WHAT A WEEK: Legates was named MVP of the 4A state championship baseball series after pitching in all three games. In the Bucs' Game 1 loss to East Forsyth, 4-3, Legates pitching three innings of relief and gave up one hit while striking out two. In Game 2, he pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up two runs and five hits, struck out five and helped the Bucs win 6-3. Later Saturday, he pitched three innings in Game 3 without giving up a run. The Bucs won 6-5 in 8 innings to win their first state championship. Legates was voted MVP after throwing 127 pitches in the series, giving up only two runs and striking out nine.
